My Journey to Vow Perfect
September 25th 2021, middle of the pandemic, lockdowns at large. My wedding day. Ermin, my soon-to-be husband and I decided on a backyard wedding; per restrictions, we had shaved the number of guests to a bare minimum. Still, it was a romantic, intimate, and chic aesthetic, the way I planned. Despite having met only earlier that same year – on Bumble! Ermin and I poured our hearts into every detail. Ermin took charge of equipment rental, set up, and even doubled as both DJ and fireworks launcher. I designed everything from florals to table arrangements and planned games and prizes for our guests –my maid of honour was my dedicated co-pilot, every step of the way. We planned everything perfectly - except for the ceremony.
In my search for an officiant, I hoped to find someone relatable – maybe from my generation, maybe a woman, maybe an immigrant herself, who understood the importance of pronouncing non-English names, with care. Maybe someone who’s involved in our journey and could weave it into our ceremony. Despite my search, I didn’t quite land on what I expected.
Since my wedding day, I I made it my mission to give couples in and around Ottawa the choice to have a deeply meaningful and personalized ceremony, one that is contemporary and truly honours their love story, their journey, their feelings for one another, and their dreams for the future. At Vow Perfect, we do just that, through both classic and custom ceremonies.
What You can Expect from Me
By day, I work with the federal government; in this role, I am privileged to serve the public while sharpening my writing and storytelling skills. That said, my communication journey began long before this. In university, I wrote for music publications and the university newspaper, and even hosted a radio show on CKCU f.m., sharing stories from diverse voices. Later, I worked with the UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR, where I was trained by some of the world’s best to amplify the voices of the most vulnerable.
Today, I bring this wealth of storytelling experience to your special day. My goal is to weave a custom narrative that captures the very heart of your relationship, both in your ceremony and your vows. On your wedding day, I'll share your unique story with you and your loved ones, to create memories that will last a lifetime!
